Traditional ceremonies are a feature of life at Nanish Shontie. However, our elders strongly feel that it is far more important to learn how to live in a spiritual way than about ceremonies. Learning to live your life in a spiritual way teaches you to be humble and respectful. Many but not all ceremonies will be open to Natives or non-Natives. We feel that it is important to share to our traditions among all who approach us in a good way and who are respectful of the fact that traditional native people of the camp are the teachers of the native ways.
We know that there are many good paths to the Creator, but as Nanish Shontie is a Native guided community where the Native American way of life will be practiced and lived, we need to request that during your stay at Nanish Shontie, if you feel the need to practice other forms of religions and traditions that you receive permission first from our native council.
